SuperNova ✨
My name is Nova—at least here and now.
Actually, I have a completely different name. Or maybe the same one as you. Because if you’re a mom yourself, you’ll probably recognize a lot from your own life—whether your kids are neurotypical or atypical. But really, where’s the line?
For this podcast, I’m Nova. Because that’s part of the story too: a little distance, a dash of artistic freedom, and a big scoop of imagination.
The Kern family you’ll meet here is fictional—at least officially. Many of their experiences are based on real-life events: some from my own life, others from stories I’ve been told. But I’ll admit: I exaggerated, embellished, or just plain made a lot of it up. Why? Because I come from the world of comedy and stand-up. Storytelling is my passion, and I prefer to keep my actual family life a little more private.
Now, let me introduce you to the Kern family:
There’s Aida, the confident teenager with clear goals and a strong will. Then we have River, the thoughtful, clever boy on the autism spectrum with AD(H)D, who sees the world in his own unique way. And finally, there’s Skye, the wild, messy youngest with ADHD and ADD, bringing a whirlwind of energy to life.
For Thoren and me—yes, we’re part of the story too—life with these three kids is often a chaotic ride. But that’s what makes it so special. Or, as we sometimes say:
“Life is one wild ride, and our little horses? A whole team of thoroughbreds with no brakes.”
If you’re listening to this podcast, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating and sharing it.
Because that’s exactly how it happened—or maybe something entirely different. Who knows? A little secret in the Supernova universe.
Your Nova (or whatever you’d like to call me) 🌟
So, buckle up, strap on your helmet—and off we go!

From Coffee Chat and Water Damage
Today is the long-awaited coffee get-together with my girlfriends. After missing the last few meet-ups due to River's doctor's appointments, Skye's school meetings, and Aida's sports events, I'm really looking forward to finally spending time with my girls again. But a broken boiler and unexpected visitors turn my morning upside down. Mike, the charming mechanic, and my friends Nele and Kim add quite a bit of chaos to my schedule. In the end, we find ourselves at the nearby café, save the basement from flooding, and experience a turbulent day full of unexpected twists and true friendship. Join me on this emotional rollercoaster, where in the end, everything somehow turns out okay.
